Adding Tendril in Plum between the Orange Mod Dots and Red Tiled Primrose (from Heather Bailey's Bijoux) really highlights the pinks and purples in those prints . Spots in Taffy and Tiled Primrose in Yellow finish off this color story by lightening it up, but keeping with the overall orange tone.
I think it's really easy to forget that purple compliments orange - it can often be a harsh color combination - but with this softer warm lavender and muted orange, it works really well.
ah, the irony...i love this color combo beyond words, and i was thinking yesterday i'd do a quilt in this colorway and call it 'aubergine and persimmon, or some play on 'gene simmons...'
ReplyDeletethank you for this.
'Aubergine and Persimmon' sounds delicious! I love the idea that it is a play on the name Gene Simmons. Very clever.

ReplyDeleteThat looks like my recent order from you! I think I ordered all those fabrics, and you packaged it so nicely in that order! I do love the Tendril in plum with the orange mod dots... nice combo!
ReplyDeleteAshley, I believe this color story is from you. When I put your order together I was loving it so much, I had to take a picture.

That's such a great combo. Ashley had a good eye! What are you going to do with it?
