Bee Square Fabrics.com: Quick Shop

Quick Shop. One of the things that sparked the idea of starting a business was the amount of time I was spending shopping for fabric online. I was making and selling baby quilts on Etsy at night, after work when the kids were in bed. I would have loved to head down to Purl to buy all my fabric, which is only about a half hour walk from where I live, but as my impulse fabric shopping usually happened around midnight, that didn't always happen.

Because of my night owl shopping habits, I started buying more and more fabric online. There are some great web stores out there, and I know you know who they are. But all this time I spent shopping for fabric made me realize that there were a few web widgets that practically no fabric shops had. One of these is quick shop. I love the feature on the Old Navy website (and having kids, I've shopped there quite a bit) and thought it would be great for buying fabric.

Out of nowhere I started sketching ideas about how I would design a website if I were making one for myself. And that was what started it. I'm excited about my Quick Shop widget and I can't wait until it is live so I can test it out for real. In the meantime, I'd love to know what you think. Please feel free to post any comments or insight you'd like to share.
